Paul Travels Through Macedonia and Greece

20:1 After the disturbance had ended, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging ¹  them and saying farewell, ²  he left to go to Macedonia. ³ 

Acts 24:18

24:18 which I was doing when they found me in the temple, ritually purified, ⁴  without a crowd or a disturbance. ⁵

[20:1]  ² tn Or “and taking leave of them.”

[20:1]  ³ sn Macedonia was the Roman province of Macedonia in Greece.

[24:18]  ⁴ sn Ritually purified. Paul’s claim here is that he was honoring the holiness of God by being sensitive to issues of ritual purity. Not only was he not guilty of the charges against him, but he was thoroughly devout.

[24:18]  ⁵ tn BDAG 458 s.v. θόρυβος 3.b has “μετὰ θορύβου…with a disturbance Ac 24:18.”
