20:14 When he met us in Assos, ¹  we took him aboard ²  and went to Mitylene. ³

23:31 So the soldiers, in accordance with their orders, ⁴  took ⁵  Paul and brought him to Antipatris ⁶  during the night.

[20:14]  ¹ sn Assos was a city of Mysia about 24 mi (40 km) southeast of Troas.

[20:14]  ² tn Grk “taking him aboard, we.” The participle ἀναλαβόντες (analabonte") has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.

[20:14]  ³ sn Mitylene was the most important city on the island of Lesbos in the Aegean Sea. It was about 44 mi (70 km) from Assos.

[23:31]  ⁴ tn BDAG 237-38 s.v. διατάσσω 2 has “κατὰ τὸ δ. αὐτοῖς in accordance w. their orders…Ac 23:31.”
