21:6 we said farewell ¹  to one another. ²  Then ³  we went aboard the ship, and they returned to their own homes. ⁴

[21:6]  ² sn These words are part of v. 5 in the standard critical Greek text.

[21:6]  ³ tn Grk “and.” Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was begun in the translation, and καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the logical sequence.

[21:6]  ⁴ tn Grk “to their own”; the word “homes” is implied.

[24:23]  ⁵ sn See the note on the word centurion in 10:1.

[24:23]  ⁶ tn Grk “that he was to be guarded.” The passive construction (τηρεῖσθαι, threisqai) has been converted to an active one in parallel with the following clauses, and the referent (Paul) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
