[3:4]  1 tn Grk “Peter, looking directly at him, as did John, said.” The participle ἀτενίσας (atenisas) has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.

[5:14]  2 tn Or “More and more believers were added to the Lord.”

[5:27]  3 tn Or “the Sanhedrin” (the highest legal, legislative, and judicial body among the Jews).

[5:27]  4 tn Or “interrogated,” “asked.”

[6:10]  4 tn Grk “and.” The context, however, indicates that the conjunction carries an adversative force.

[6:10]  5 sn They were not able to resist. This represents another fulfillment of Luke 12:11-12; 21:15.

[13:23]  5 tn Or “From the offspring”; Grk “From the seed.”

[13:23]  6 sn The phrase this man is in emphatic position in the Greek text.

[13:23]  7 tn Grk “according to [his] promise.” The comparative clause “just as he promised” is less awkward in English.

[16:5]  6 tn BDAG 437 s.v. ἡμέρα 2.c has “every day” for this phrase.

[20:8]  7 tn More commonly λαμπάς (lampa") means “torch,” but here according to BDAG 585 s.v. λαμπάς 2, “lamp…w. a wick and space for oil.”

[20:8]  8 sn This is best taken as a parenthetical note by the author.

[26:21]  8 tn Grk “in the temple.” This is actually a reference to the courts surrounding the temple proper, and has been translated accordingly.

[27:37]  9 tc One early ms (B) and an early version (sa) read “about seventy-six.” For discussion of how this variant probably arose, see F. F. Bruce, The Acts of the Apostles, 465.

[27:37]  10 sn This is a parenthetical note by the author.
