5:20 “Go and stand in the temple courts ¹  and proclaim ²  to the people all the words of this life.”

Acts 25:12

25:12 Then, after conferring with his council, ⁴  Festus ⁵  replied, “You have appealed to Caesar; ⁶  to Caesar ⁷  you will go!” ⁸ 

[5:20]  ¹ tn Grk “the temple.” This is actually a reference to the courts surrounding the temple proper, and has been translated accordingly.

[5:20]  ² tn Or “speak.”

[21:12]  ³ tn Or “the people there.”

[25:12]  ⁵ tn That is, with his advisers.

[25:12]  ⁶ sn See the note on Porcius Festus in 24:27.

[25:12]  ⁷ tn Or “to the emperor” (“Caesar” is a title for the Roman emperor).

[25:12]  ⁸ tn Or “to the emperor.”

[25:12]  ⁹ sn “To Caesar you will go!” In all probability Festus was pleased to send Paul on to Rome and get this political problem out of his court.
