5:23 “We found the jail locked securely and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them, ¹  we found no one inside.”

Acts 21:7

21:7 We continued the voyage from Tyre ²  and arrived at Ptolemais, ³  and when we had greeted the brothers, we stayed with them for one day.

[5:23]  ¹ tn The word “them” is not in the Greek text, but is implied. Direct objects in Greek were often omitted when clear from the context, but must be supplied for the modern English reader.

[21:7]  ² sn Tyre was a city and seaport on the coast of Phoenicia.

[21:7]  ³ sn Ptolemais was a seaport on the coast of Palestine about 30 mi (48 km) south of Tyre.
