8:6 The crowds were paying attention with one mind to what Philip said, ¹  as they heard and saw the miraculous signs ²  he was performing.

Acts 21:6

21:6 we said farewell ³  to one another. ⁴  Then ⁵  we went aboard the ship, and they returned to their own homes. ⁶ 

Acts 26:31

26:31 and as they were leaving they said to one another, ⁷  “This man is not doing anything deserving ⁸  death or imprisonment.”

[8:6]  ¹ tn Grk “to what was being said by Philip,” a passive construction that has been changed to active voice in the translation.

[8:6]  ² tn Here the following context indicates the miraculous nature of the signs mentioned. This term appears 13 times in Acts, but only twice more after Acts 8:13 (i.e., 14:3; 15:12).

[21:6]  ³ tn BDAG 98 s.v. ἀπασπάζομαι has “take leave of, say farewell to τινά someone…ἀπησπασάμεθα ἀλλήλους we said farewell to one another Ac 21:6.”

[21:6]  ⁴ sn These words are part of v. 5 in the standard critical Greek text.

[21:6]  ⁵ tn Grk “and.” Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was begun in the translation, and καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the logical sequence.

[21:6]  ⁶ tn Grk “to their own”; the word “homes” is implied.

[26:31]  ⁵ tn Grk “they spoke to one another saying.” The participle λέγοντες (legontes) is redundant in English and has not been translated.

[26:31]  ⁶ tn BDAG 93 s.v. ἄξιος 1.b has “θανάτου ἢ δεσμῶν ἄ. nothing deserving death or imprisonment 23:29; 26:31.”
