Context

7:14 To him was given ruling authority, honor, and sovereignty.

All peoples, nations, and language groups were serving 1  him.

His authority is eternal and will not pass away. 2 

His kingdom will not be destroyed. 3 

Daniel 8:21

8:21 The male goat 4  is the king of Greece, 5  and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.

Revelation 17:10

17:10 five have fallen; one is, 6  and the other has not yet come, but whenever he does come, he must remain for only a brief time.

[7:14]  2 tn Aram “is an eternal authority which will not pass away.”

[8:21]  4 tn Heb “the he-goat, the buck.” The expression is odd, and the second word may be an explanatory gloss.
