Daniel 1:17

1:17 Now as for these four young men, God endowed them with knowledge and skill in all sorts of literature and wisdom – and Daniel had insight into all kinds of visions and dreams.

Daniel 10:21

10:21 However, I will first tell you what is written in a dependable book. ¹  (There is no one who strengthens me against these princes, ²  except Michael your ³  prince.

Daniel 11:41

11:41 Then he will enter the beautiful land. ⁴  Many ⁵  will fall, but these will escape: ⁶  Edom, Moab, and the Ammonite leadership.

[10:21]  ¹ tn Heb “a book of truth.” Several English versions treat this as a title of some sort (cf. NIV, NCV, TEV, CEV, NLT), although the NAB’s rendering “the truthful book” regards “truth” as an attributive adjective, as does the present translation.

[10:21]  ² tn The word “princes” is supplied for clarity.

[10:21]  ³ tn The pronoun is plural in Hebrew, suggesting that Michael is the angelic prince of Daniel and his people.

[11:41]  ¹ sn The beautiful land is a cryptic reference to the land of Israel.

[11:41]  ² tn This can be understood as “many people” (cf. NRSV) or “many countries” (cf. NASB, NIV, NLT).

[11:41]  ³ tn Heb “be delivered from his hand.”
