Daniel 10:18

10:18 Then the one who appeared to be a human being touched me again ¹  and strengthened me.

Daniel 8:16-17

8:16 Then I heard a human voice coming from between the banks of the Ulai. It called out, “Gabriel, ²  enable this person to understand the vision.” 8:17 So he approached the place where I was standing. As he came, I felt terrified and fell flat on the ground. ³  Then he said to me, “Understand, son of man, ⁴  that the vision pertains to the time of the end.”

Daniel 10:16

10:16 Then ⁵  one who appeared to be a human being ⁶  was touching my lips. I opened my mouth and started to speak, saying to the one who was standing before me, “Sir, ⁷  due to the vision, anxiety has gripped me and I have no strength.

[10:18]  ¹ tn Heb “He added and touched me.” The construction is a verbal hendiadys.

[8:16]  ² sn The only angels whose names are given in the OT are Gabriel (Dan 8:16; 9:21; cf. Luke 1:19, 26) and Michael (Dan 10:13, 21; 12:1; cf. Jude 9; Rev 12:7). The name Gabriel means in Hebrew “man of God,” and Michael means “who is like God?”

[10:16]  ⁴ tn Heb “Behold.”

[10:16]  ⁵ tc So most Hebrew MSS; one Hebrew MS along with the Dead Sea Scrolls and LXX read “something that looked like a man’s hand.”
