Daniel 2:28

Context
2:28 However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, 1  and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the times to come. 2  The dream and the visions you had while lying on your bed 3  are as follows.

Daniel 2:44

Context
2:44 In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever.

Daniel 4:34

Context

4:34 But at the end of the appointed time 4  I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up 5  toward heaven, and my sanity returned to me.

I extolled the Most High,

and I praised and glorified the one who lives forever.

For his authority is an everlasting authority,

and his kingdom extends from one generation to the next.

Daniel 5:11

5:11 There is a man in your kingdom who has within him a spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your father, he proved to have 6  insight, discernment, and wisdom like that 7  of the gods. 8  King Nebuchadnezzar your father appointed him chief of the magicians, astrologers, wise men, and diviners. 9

6:13 Then they said to the king, “Daniel, who is one of the captives 10  from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the edict that you issued. Three times daily he offers his prayer.” 11

7:9 “While I was watching,

thrones were set up,

and the Ancient of Days 12  took his seat.

His attire was white like snow;

the hair of his head was like lamb’s 13  wool.

His throne was ablaze with fire

and its wheels were all aflame. 14 

Daniel 6:7

6:7 To all the supervisors of the kingdom, the prefects, satraps, counselors, and governors it seemed like a good idea for a royal edict to be issued and an interdict to be enforced. For the next thirty days anyone who prays 15  to any god or human other than you, O king, should be thrown into a den of lions.

Daniel 6:10

6:10 When Daniel realized 16  that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows 17  in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. 18  Three 19  times daily he was 20  kneeling 21  and offering prayers and thanks to his God just as he had been accustomed to do previously.

Daniel 6:12

6:12 So they approached the king and said to him, 22  “Did you not issue an edict to the effect that for the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human other than to you, O king, would be thrown into a den of lions?” The king replied, “That is correct, 23  according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed.”

[2:28]  1 tn Aram “a revealer of mysteries.” The phrase serves as a quasi-title for God in Daniel.

[7:9]  13 tn Or “the Ancient One” (NAB, NRSV, NLT), although the traditional expression has been retained in the present translation because it is familiar to many readers. Cf. TEV “One who had been living for ever”; CEV “the Eternal God.”

[7:9]  14 tn Traditionally the Aramaic word נְקֵא (nÿqe’) has been rendered “pure,” but here it more likely means “of a lamb.” Cf. the Syriac neqya’ (“a sheep, ewe”). On this word see further, M. Sokoloff, “’amar neqe’, ‘Lamb’s Wool’ (Dan 7:9),” JBL 95 (1976): 277-79.
