5:18 As for you, O king, the most high God bestowed on your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, greatness, honor, and majesty. ¹

2:37 “You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has granted you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor.

Daniel 4:30

4:30 The king uttered these words: “Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence ²  by my own mighty strength ³  and for my majestic honor?”

Daniel 5:20

5:20 And when his mind ⁴  became arrogant ⁵  and his spirit filled with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and his honor was removed from him.

Daniel 4:36

4:36 At that time my sanity returned to me. I was restored ⁶  to the honor of my kingdom, and my splendor returned to me. My ministers and my nobles were seeking me out, and I was reinstated ⁷  over my kingdom. I became even greater than before.

Daniel 7:14

7:14 To him was given ruling authority, honor, and sovereignty.

All peoples, nations, and language groups were serving ⁸  him.

His authority is eternal and will not pass away. ⁹ 

His kingdom will not be destroyed. ¹⁰

[4:36]  ⁵ tc The translation reads הָתְקְנֵת (hotqÿnet, “I was established”) rather than the MT הָתְקְנַת (hotqÿnat, “it was established”). As it stands, the MT makes no sense here.

[7:14]  ⁵ tn Some take “serving” here in the sense of “worshiping.”

[7:14]  ⁶ tn Aram “is an eternal authority which will not pass away.”

[7:14]  ⁷ tn Aram “is one which will not be destroyed.”
