Daniel 7:18

7:18 The holy ones ¹  of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will take possession of the kingdom forever and ever.’

Daniel 8:11

8:11 It also acted arrogantly against the Prince of the army, ²  from whom ³  the daily sacrifice was removed and whose sanctuary ⁴  was thrown down.

Daniel 12:3

12:3 But the wise will shine

like the brightness of the heavenly expanse.

And those bringing many to righteousness

will be like the stars forever and ever.

[7:18]  ¹ sn The expression holy ones is either a reference to angels or to human beings devoted to God.

[8:11]  ² sn The prince of the army may refer to God (cf. “whose sanctuary” later in the verse) or to the angel Michael (cf. 12:1).

[8:11]  ³ tn Or perhaps “and by him,” referring to Antiochus rather than to God.

[8:11]  ⁴ sn Here the sanctuary is a reference to the temple of God in Jerusalem.
