Daniel 8:18

8:18 As he spoke with me, I fell into a trance with my face to the ground. But he touched me and stood me upright. ¹

Daniel 8:17

8:17 So he approached the place where I was standing. As he came, I felt terrified and fell flat on the ground. ³  Then he said to me, “Understand, son of man, ⁴  that the vision pertains to the time of the end.”

[11:1]  ² sn The antecedent of the pronoun “I” is the angel, not Daniel. The traditional chapter division at this point, and the presence of a chronological note in the verse similar to ones used elsewhere in the book to position Daniel’s activities in relation to imperial affairs, sometimes lead to confusion on this matter.
