Deuteronomy 10:17-18

10:17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God who is unbiased and takes no bribe, 10:18 who justly treats ¹  the orphan and widow, and who loves resident foreigners, giving them food and clothing.

Psalms 68:5-6

68:5 He is a father to the fatherless

and an advocate for widows. ² 

God rules from his holy palace. ³

James 1:27

[146:9]  ⁸ tn Heb “he makes the way of the wicked twisted.” The “way of the wicked” probably refers to their course of life (see Prov 4:19; Jer 12:1). God makes their path tortuous in the sense that he makes them pay the harmful consequences of their actions.
