Deuteronomy 12:9

12:9 for you have not yet come to the final stop ¹  and inheritance the Lord your God is giving you.

Deuteronomy 13:4

13:4 You must follow the Lord your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him.

Deuteronomy 22:5

22:5 A woman must not wear men’s clothing, ²  nor should a man dress up in women’s clothing, for anyone who does this is offensive ³  to the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 27:10

27:10 You must obey him ⁴  and keep his commandments and statutes that I am giving you today.”

[12:9]  ¹ tn Heb “rest.”

[22:5]  ² tn Heb “a man’s clothing.”

[22:5]  ³ tn The Hebrew term תּוֹעֵבָה (to’evah, “offense”) speaks of anything that runs counter to ritual or moral order, especially (in the OT) to divine standards. Cross-dressing in this covenant context may suggest homosexuality, fertility cult ritual, or some other forbidden practice.

[27:10]  ³ tn Heb “listen to the voice of the Lord your God.” Here “listen” (NAB “hearken”) means “obey” (cf. KJV, ASV, NASB). The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.
