[18:15]  1 tc The MT expands here on the usual formula by adding “from among you” (cf. Deut 17:15; 18:18; Smr; a number of Greek texts). The expansion seems to be for the purpose of emphasis, i.e., the prophet to come must be not just from Israel but an Israelite by blood.

[8:20]  2 tn Heb “so you will perish.”

[8:20]  3 tn Heb “listen to the voice of the Lord your God.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

[1:17]  3 tn Heb “you,” and throughout the verse (cf. NASB, NRSV).

[1:17]  4 tn Heb “the small,” but referring to social status, not physical stature.

[7:12]  4 tn Heb “will keep with you the covenant and loyalty.” On the construction used here, see v. 9.

[7:12]  5 tn Heb “which he swore on oath.” The relative pronoun modifies “covenant,” so one could translate “will keep faithfully the covenant (or promise) he made on oath to your ancestors.”
