19:8 If the Lord your God enlarges your borders as he promised your ancestors ¹  and gives you all the land he pledged to them, ²

[19:8]  ² tn Heb “he said to give to your ancestors.” The pronoun has been used in the translation instead for stylistic reasons.

[24:16]  ³ tn Heb “sons” (so NASB; twice in this verse). Many English versions, including the KJV, read “children” here.

[27:20]  ⁵ tn Heb “who lies with” (so NASB, NRSV); also in vv. 22, 23. This is a Hebrew idiom for having sexual relations (cf. NIV “who sleeps with”; NLT “who has sexual intercourse with”).
