Deuteronomy 22:15
Context22:15 Then the father and mother of the young woman must produce the evidence of virginity 1 for the elders of the city at the gate.
Deuteronomy 25:7
Context25:7 But if the man does not want to marry his brother’s widow, then she 2 must go to the elders at the town gate and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel; he is unwilling to perform the duty of a brother-in-law to me!”

[22:15] 1 sn In light of v. 17 this would evidently be blood-stained sheets indicative of the first instance of intercourse. See E. H. Merrill, Deuteronomy (NAC), 302-3.
[25:7] 2 tn Heb “want to take his sister-in-law, then his sister in law.” In the second instance the pronoun (“she”) has been used in the translation to avoid redundancy.
