Deuteronomy 26:8

26:8 Therefore the Lord brought us out of Egypt with tremendous strength and power, ¹  as well as with great awe-inspiring signs and wonders.

Deuteronomy 34:12

34:12 and he displayed great power ²  and awesome might in view of all Israel. ³ 

[26:8]  ¹ tn Heb “by a powerful hand and an extended arm.” These are anthropomorphisms designed to convey God’s tremendously great power in rescuing Israel from their Egyptian bondage. They are preserved literally in many English versions (cf. KJV, NAB, NIV, NRSV).

[34:12]  ² tn Heb “strong hand.”

[34:12]  ³ tn The Hebrew text of v. 12 reads literally, “with respect to all the strong hand and with respect to all the awesome greatness which Moses did before the eyes of all Israel.”
