[4:11]  1 tn Heb “a mountain burning with fire as far as the heart of the heavens.” The Hebrew term שָׁמַיִם (shamayim) may be translated “heaven(s)” or “sky” depending on the context.

[4:11]  2 tn Heb “darkness, cloud, and heavy cloud.”

[4:16]  3 tn The words “I say this” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons. In the Hebrew text v. 16 is subordinated to “Be careful” in v. 15, but this makes for an unduly long sentence in English.

[4:22]  5 tn Heb “this.” The translation uses “that” to avoid confusion; earlier in the verse Moses refers to Transjordan as “this land.”

[8:7]  7 tn Or “wadis.”

[10:22]  9 tn Or “heavens.” The Hebrew term שָׁמַיִם (shamayim) may be translated “heaven(s)” or “sky” depending on the context.

[18:12]  16 tn The translation understands the Hebrew participial form as having an imminent future sense here.

[27:12]  17 tn The word “tribes” has been supplied here and in the following verse in the translation for clarity.
