[4:15]  1 tn Heb “give great care to your souls.”

[16:4]  2 tn Heb “leaven must not be seen among you in all your border.”

[16:4]  3 tn Heb “remain all night until the morning” (so KJV, ASV). This has been simplified in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[31:18]  3 tn The Hebrew text uses the infinitive absolute for emphasis, which the translation indicates with “certainly.”

[31:18]  4 tn Heb “he.” Smr, LXX, and the Targums read the plural “they.” See note on the first occurrence of “they” in v. 16.
