Deuteronomy 5:5

5:5 (I was standing between the Lord and you at that time to reveal to you the message ¹  of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain.) He said:

Deuteronomy 17:11

17:11 You must do what you are instructed, and the verdict they pronounce to you, without fail. Do not deviate right or left from what they tell you.

Deuteronomy 26:3

26:3 You must go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, “I declare today to the Lord your ²  God that I have come into the land that the Lord ³  promised ⁴  to our ancestors ⁵  to give us.”

Deuteronomy 30:18

30:18 I declare to you this very day that you will certainly ⁶  perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. ⁷

[26:3]  ² tc For the MT reading “your God,” certain LXX mss have “my God,” a contextually superior rendition followed by some English versions (e.g., NAB, NASB, TEV). Perhaps the text reflects dittography of the kaf (כ) at the end of the word with the following preposition כִּי (ki).

[26:3]  ³ tc The Syriac adds “your God” to complete the usual formula.

[26:3]  ⁴ tn Heb “swore on oath.”

[26:3]  ⁵ tn Heb “fathers” (also in vv. 7, 15).

[30:18]  ³ tn The Hebrew text uses the infinitive absolute for emphasis, which the translation indicates with “certainly.”
