Deuteronomy 6:14

6:14 You must not go after other gods, those ¹  of the surrounding peoples,

Deuteronomy 21:2

21:2 your elders and judges must go out and measure how far it is to the cities in the vicinity of the corpse. ² 

[6:14]  ¹ tn Heb “from the gods.” The demonstrative pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

[21:2]  ² tn Heb “surrounding the slain [one].”
