6:22 And he ¹  brought signs and great, devastating wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on his whole family ²  before our very eyes.

Deuteronomy 26:8

26:8 Therefore the Lord brought us out of Egypt with tremendous strength and power, ³  as well as with great awe-inspiring signs and wonders.

Deuteronomy 29:3

29:3 Your eyes have seen the great judgments, ⁴  those signs and mighty wonders.

[6:22]  ¹ tn Heb “the Lord.” See note on the word “his” in v. 17.

[6:22]  ² tn Heb “house,” referring to the entire household.

[26:8]  ³ tn Heb “by a powerful hand and an extended arm.” These are anthropomorphisms designed to convey God’s tremendously great power in rescuing Israel from their Egyptian bondage. They are preserved literally in many English versions (cf. KJV, NAB, NIV, NRSV).

[29:3]  ⁵ tn Heb “testings.” This is a reference to the plagues; see note at 4:34.
