Deuteronomy 7:22

7:22 He, ¹  the God who leads you, will expel the nations little by little. You will not be allowed to destroy them all at once lest the wild animals overrun you.

Deuteronomy 28:21

28:21 The Lord will plague you with deadly diseases ²  until he has completely removed you from the land you are about to possess.
