Deuteronomy 9:14

9:14 Stand aside ¹  and I will destroy them, obliterating their very name from memory, ²  and I will make you into a stronger and more numerous nation than they are.”

Deuteronomy 25:6

25:6 Then ³  the first son ⁴  she bears will continue the name of the dead brother, thus preventing his name from being blotted out of Israel.

[9:14]  ² tn Heb “from under heaven.”

[25:6]  ³ tn Heb “and it will be that.”

[25:6]  ⁴ tn Heb “the firstborn.” This refers to the oldest male child.
