Exodus 26:33

26:33 You are to hang this curtain under the clasps and bring the ark of the testimony in there behind the curtain. 1  The curtain will make a division for you between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. 2

32:15 Moses turned and went down from the mountain with 3  the two tablets of the testimony in his hands. The tablets were written on both sides – they were written on the front and on the back.

Exodus 34:28

34:28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; 4  he did not eat bread, and he did not drink water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. 5

[26:33]  1 tn The traditional expression is “within the veil,” literally “into the house (or area) of the (special) curtain.”

[26:33]  2 tn Or “the Holy of Holies.”

[32:15]  3 tn The disjunctive vav (ו) serves here as a circumstantial clause indicator.

[34:28]  5 tn These too are adverbial in relation to the main clause, telling how long Moses was with Yahweh on the mountain.

[34:28]  6 tn Heb “the ten words,” though “commandments” is traditional.
