[1:8]  ¹ tc The MT reads “his hand” while many Hebrew mss as well as the Qere read “hands of.” Two similar Hebrew letters, vav and yod, have been confused.

[43:16]  ¹ tn The precise Hebrew word used here to refer to an “altar hearth” occurs only here in the OT.

[43:16]  ² tn Heb “twelve cubits” (i.e., 6.3 meters; the phrase occurs twice in this verse).

[10:11]  ¹ sn That is, the cherubim.

[10:11]  ² tn Many interpreters assume that the human face of each cherub was the one that looked forward.

[43:17]  ¹ tn Heb “fourteen”; the word “cubits” is not in the Hebrew text but is understood from the context; the phrase occurs again later in this verse. Fourteen cubits is about 7.35 meters.
