12:12 “The prince ¹  who is among them will raise his belongings ²  onto his shoulder in darkness, and will go out. He ³  will dig a hole in the wall to leave through. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land with his eyes.

40:6 Then he went to the gate facing east. He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate as 10½ feet deep. ⁴ 

[12:12]  ¹ sn The prince is a reference to Zedekiah.

[12:12]  ² tn The words “his belongings” are not in the Hebrew text but are implied.

[12:12]  ³ tc The MT reads “they”; the LXX and Syriac read “he.”

[40:6]  ⁴ tn The Hebrew text adds “the one threshold 10½ feet deep.” This is probably an accidental duplication of what precedes. See D. I. Block, Ezekiel (NICOT), 2:517.
