Ezekiel 18:30

18:30 “Therefore I will judge each person according to his conduct, ¹  O house of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent ²  and turn from all your wickedness; then it will not be an obstacle leading to iniquity. ³ 

Ezekiel 44:12

44:12 Because they used to minister to them before their idols, and became a sinful obstacle ⁴  to the house of Israel, consequently I have made a vow ⁵  concerning them, declares the sovereign Lord, that they will be responsible ⁶  for their sin.

[18:30]  ² tn The verbs and persons in this verse are plural whereas the individual has been the subject of the chapter.

[18:30]  ³ tn Or “leading to punishment.”

[44:12]  ⁴ tn Heb “a stumbling block of iniquity.” This is a unique phrase of the prophet Ezekiel (cf. also Ezek 7:19; 14:3, 4, 7; 18:30).

[44:12]  ⁶ tn Heb “will bear.”
