Ezekiel 18:31

18:31 Throw away all your sins you have committed and fashion yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! ¹  Why should you die, O house of Israel?

Ezekiel 33:11

33:11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but prefer that the wicked change his behavior ²  and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil deeds! ³  Why should you die, O house of Israel?’

[18:31]  ¹ sn In Ezek 11:19, 36:26 the new heart and new spirit are promised as future blessings.

[33:11]  ² tn Heb “turn from his way.”

[33:11]  ³ tn Heb “ways.” This same word is translated “behavior” earlier in the verse.
