Ezekiel 22:3

22:3 Then say, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: O city, who spills blood within herself (which brings on her doom), ¹  and who makes herself idols (which results in impurity),

Ezekiel 44:25

44:25 “‘They must not come near a dead person or they will be defiled; ²  however, for father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister, they may defile themselves.

[22:3]  ¹ tn Heb “her time”; this refers to the time of impending judgment (see the note on “doom” in v. 4).

[44:25]  ² sn This law was part of the legal code for priests (Lev 21:1-3).
