Ezekiel 23:24
Context23:24 They will attack 1 you with weapons, 2 chariots, wagons, and with a huge army; 3 they will array themselves against you on every side with large shields, small shields, and helmets. I will assign them the task of judgment; 4 they will punish you according to their laws.
Ezekiel 47:8
Context47:8 He said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea, 5 where the sea is stagnant, 6 the waters become fresh. 7

[23:24] 1 tn Heb “come against.”
[23:24] 2 tn This is the only occurrence of this term in the OT. The precise meaning is uncertain.
[23:24] 3 tn Heb “an assembly of peoples.”
[23:24] 4 tn Heb “I will place before them judgment.”
[47:8] 5 tn Heb “the sea,” referring to the Dead Sea. This has been specified in the translation for clarity.
[47:8] 6 tn Heb “to the sea, those which are brought out.” The reading makes no sense. The text is best emended to read “filthy” (i.e., stagnant). See L. C. Allen, Ezekiel (WBC), 2:273.
