Ezekiel 34:4

34:4 You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness ¹  you have ruled over them.

Ezekiel 47:9

47:9 Every living creature which swarms where the river ²  flows will live; there will be many fish, for these waters flow there. It will become fresh ³  and everything will live where the river flows.

[34:4]  ¹ tn The term translated “harshness” is used to describe the oppression the Israelites suffered as slaves in Egypt (Exod 1:13).

[47:9]  ² tn Heb “two rivers,” perhaps under the influence of Zech 14:8. The translation follows the LXX and other ancient versions in reading the singular, which is demanded by the context (see vv. 5-7, 9b, 12).

[47:9]  ³ tn Heb “will be healed.”
