Ezekiel 39:14

39:14 They will designate men to scout continually 1  through the land, burying those who remain on the surface of the ground, 2  in order to cleanse it. They will search for seven full months.

46:14 And you 3  will provide a grain offering with it morning by morning, a sixth of an ephah, and a third of a gallon 4  of olive oil to moisten the choice flour, as a grain offering to the Lord; this is a perpetual statute.

[39:14]  1 tn Heb “men of perpetuity.”

[39:14]  2 tn Heb “and bury the travelers and those who remain on the surface of the ground.” The reference to “travelers” seems odd and is omitted in the LXX. It is probably an accidental duplication (see v. 11).

[46:14]  3 tc Two medieval Hebrew mss, the LXX, the Syriac, and the Vulgate read the verb as third person singular.

[46:14]  4 tn Heb “a hin of oil.” A hin was about 1/16 of a bath. See L. C. Allen, Ezekiel (WBC), 2:266, and O. R. Sellers, “Weights,” IDB 4:835 g.
