Ezekiel 5:10
Context5:10 Therefore fathers will eat their sons within you, Jerusalem, 1 and sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you, and I will scatter any survivors 2 to the winds. 3
Ezekiel 20:24
Context20:24 I did this 4 because they did not observe my regulations, they rejected my statutes, they desecrated my Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on 5 their fathers’ idols.

[5:10] 1 tn In context “you” refers to the city of Jerusalem. To make this clear for the modern reader, “Jerusalem” has been supplied in the translation in apposition to “you.”
[5:10] 2 tn Heb “all of your survivors.”
[5:10] 3 tn Heb “to every wind.”
[20:24] 4 tn The words “I did this” are not in the Hebrew text, but are supplied for stylistic reasons. Verses 23-24 are one long sentence in the Hebrew text. The translation divides this sentence into two for stylistic reasons.
[20:24] 5 tn Or “they worshiped” (NCV, TEV, CEV); Heb “their eyes were on” or “were after” (cf. v. 16).
