Ezekiel 9:4

9:4 The Lord said to him, “Go through the city of Jerusalem ¹  and put a mark ²  on the foreheads of the people who moan and groan over all the abominations practiced in it.”

Ezekiel 29:12

29:12 I will turn the land of Egypt into a desolation in the midst of desolate lands; for forty years her cities will lie desolate in the midst of ruined cities. I will scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse them among foreign countries.

Ezekiel 32:25

32:25 Among the dead they have made a bed for her, along with all her hordes around her grave. ³  All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword, for their terror had spread in the land of the living. They bear their shame along with those who descend to the pit; they are placed among the dead.

[9:4]  ¹ tn Heb “through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem.”

[9:4]  ² tn The word translated “mark” is in Hebrew the letter ת (tav). Outside this context the only other occurrence of the word is in Job 31:35. In ancient Hebrew script this letter was written like the letter X.

[32:25]  ³ tn Heb “around him her graves,” but the expression is best emended to read “around her grave” (see vv. 23-24).
