[1:17] 1 tn Heb “them”; the referent (the lights mentioned in the preceding verses) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
[40:6] 2 tn The verb זָעַף (za’af) only occurs here and Dan 1:10. It means “to be sick, to be emaciated,” probably in this case because of depression.
[48:12] 3 tn Heb “and Joseph brought them out from with his knees.” The two boys had probably been standing by Israel’s knees when being adopted and blessed. The referent of the pronoun “his” (Israel) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
