Genesis 1:30

1:30 And to all the animals of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to all the creatures that move on the ground – everything that has the breath of life in it – I give ¹  every green plant for food.” It was so.

2:1 The heavens and the earth ²  were completed with everything that was in them. ³

7:5 And Noah did all ⁴  that the Lord commanded him.

Genesis 9:2

9:2 Every living creature of the earth and every bird of the sky will be terrified of you. ⁵  Everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea are under your authority. ⁶

[2:1]  ³ tn Heb “and all the host of them.” Here the “host” refers to all the entities and creatures that God created to populate the world.

[7:5]  ³ tn Heb “according to all.”

[9:2]  ⁴ tn Heb “and fear of you and dread of you will be upon every living creature of the earth and upon every bird of the sky.” The suffixes on the nouns “fear” and “dread” are objective genitives. The animals will fear humans from this time forward.

[9:2]  ⁵ tn Heb “into your hand are given.” The “hand” signifies power. To say the animals have been given into the hands of humans means humans have been given authority over them.
