[10:30]  1 tn Heb “as you go.”

[14:20]  2 tn Heb “blessed be.” For God to be “blessed” means that is praised. His reputation is enriched in the world as his name is praised.

[14:20]  3 sn Who delivered. The Hebrew verb מִגֵּן (miggen, “delivered”) foreshadows the statement by God to Abram in Gen 15:1, “I am your shield” (מָגֵן, magen). Melchizedek provided a theological interpretation of Abram’s military victory.

[14:20]  4 tn Heb “him”; the referent (Melchizedek) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[16:10]  3 tn Heb “The Lord’s angel said, ‘I will greatly multiply your descendants….” The order of the clauses has been rearranged in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[16:10]  4 tn Heb “cannot be numbered because of abundance.”

[27:43]  4 tn Heb “listen to my voice.”

[27:43]  5 tn Heb “arise, flee.”

[41:16]  5 tn Heb “not within me.”

[41:16]  6 tn Heb “God will answer.”

[41:16]  7 tn The expression שְׁלוֹם פַּרְעֹה (shÿlom paroh) is here rendered “the welfare of Pharaoh” because the dream will be about life in his land. Some interpret it to mean an answer of “peace” – one that will calm his heart, or give him the answer that he desires (cf. NIV, NRSV, NLT).
