[13:5]  1 tn Heb “was going.”

[13:5]  2 tn The Hebrew idiom is “to Lot…there was,” the preposition here expressing possession.

[15:14]  3 tn The participle דָּן (dan, from דִּין, din) is used here for the future: “I am judging” = “I will surely judge.” The judgment in this case will be condemnation and punishment. The translation “execute judgment on” implies that the judgment will certainly be carried out.

[44:9]  5 tn Heb “The one with whom it is found from your servants.” Here “your servants” (a deferential way of referring to the brothers themselves) has been translated by the pronoun “us” to avoid confusion with Joseph’s servants.
