Genesis 13:8

13:8 Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no quarreling between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are close relatives. ¹ 

Genesis 46:32

46:32 The men are shepherds; ²  they take care of livestock. ³  They have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.’

[13:8]  ¹ tn Heb “men, brothers [are] we.” Here “brothers” describes the closeness of the relationship, but could be misunderstood if taken literally, since Abram was Lot’s uncle.

[46:32]  ² tn Heb “feeders of sheep.”

[46:32]  ³ tn Heb “for men of livestock they are.”
