[14:11]  1 tn Heb “they”; the referent (the four victorious kings, see v. 9) has been supplied in the translation for clarity.

[18:20]  2 tn Heb “the outcry of Sodom,” which apparently refers to the outcry for divine justice from those (unidentified persons) who observe its sinful ways.

[18:20]  3 tn Heb “heavy.”

[19:24]  3 tn The disjunctive clause signals the beginning of the next scene and highlights God’s action.

[19:24]  4 tn Or “burning sulfur” (the traditional “fire and brimstone”).
