[14:12]  2 tn Heb “and.”

[14:12]  3 tn Heb “he”; the referent (Lot) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[14:12]  4 tn This disjunctive clause is circumstantial/causal, explaining that Lot was captured because he was living in Sodom at the time.

[29:5]  5 tn Heb “son.”

[29:5]  6 tn Heb “and they said, ‘We know.’” The word “him” is not in the Hebrew text, but has been supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons. In the translation several introductory clauses throughout this section have been placed after the direct discourse they introduce for stylistic reasons as well.
