Genesis 27:8

27:8 Now then, my son, do ¹  exactly what I tell you! ² 

Genesis 29:11

29:11 Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep loudly. ³ 

[27:8]  ¹ tn Heb “listen to my voice.” The Hebrew idiom means “to comply; to obey.”

[27:8]  ² tn Heb “to that which I am commanding you.”

[29:11]  ³ tn Heb “and he lifted up his voice and wept.” The idiom calls deliberate attention to the fact that Jacob wept out loud.
