31:12 Then he said, ‘Observe ¹  that all the male goats mating with ²  the flock are streaked, speckled, or spotted, for I have observed all that Laban has done to you.

[31:12]  ² tn Heb “going up on,” that is, mounting for intercourse.

[37:19]  ³ tn Heb “Look, this master of dreams is coming.” The brothers’ words have a sarcastic note and indicate that they resent his dreams.

[39:8]  ⁵ tn Heb “and he said.”

[39:8]  ⁶ tn Heb “know.”

[39:8]  ⁷ tn The word “here” has been supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[39:8]  ⁸ tn Heb “hand.” This is a metonymy for being under the control or care of Joseph.
