45:1 Joseph was no longer able to control himself before all his attendants, 4  so he cried out, “Make everyone go out from my presence!” No one remained 5  with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers.

[32:25]  3 tn Or “injured”; traditionally “touched.” The Hebrew verb translated “struck” has the primary meanings “to touch; to reach; to strike.” It can, however, carry the connotation “to harm; to molest; to injure.” God’s “touch” cripples Jacob – it would be comparable to a devastating blow.

[45:1]  4 tn Heb “all the ones standing beside him.”

[45:1]  5 tn Heb “stood.”
