34:6 Then Shechem’s father Hamor went to speak with Jacob about Dinah. ¹

34:18 Their offer pleased Hamor and his son Shechem. ² 

[34:6]  ¹ tn Heb “went out to Jacob to speak with him.” The words “about Dinah” are not in the Hebrew text, but are supplied in the translation for clarity.

[34:18]  ² tn Heb “and their words were good in the eyes of Hamor and in the eyes of Shechem son of Hamor.”
