36:7 because they had too many possessions to be able to stay together and the land where they had settled ¹  was not able to support them because of their livestock.

Genesis 46:6

46:6 Jacob and all his descendants took their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and they went to Egypt. ² 

[36:7]  ¹ tn Heb “land of their settlements.”

[46:6]  ² tn Heb “and they took their livestock and their possessions which they had acquired in the land of Canaan and they went to Egypt, Jacob and all his offspring with him.” The order of the clauses has been rearranged in the translation for stylistic reasons.
